Chapter 2: The new journey

"Here, take this Dear." Kat said as she gave a warm sheet to Alexia while Apollis was pouring some hot tea in a cup.

"Thank you for your kindness." she replied, with cheeks fully blushing.

"Oh never mind that!  It's not often that Edward brings a young, beautiful lady home!  It's the least we can do." Said Mother Falcon as Edward sat by the window.

"I can hear you guys.."  Edward finally decided to break his own silence.  "I've brought her inside to get her out of the cold.  It is snowing out there if you didn't notice.."  Kay smiled with a light nod.
"Thank you again..you acted like a real gentleman."

Instead of answering, Edward simply turned away, looking back out to the falling snow.  "Please excuse him.  This bad wather has turned him into a real sour puss."  Kat joked causing Edward to simply roll his eyes.

Alexia sipped at his tea, while looking around the mansion.  "This is a really enormous house.." she spoke in a surprised tone.  "My husband was a famous explorer so you know, money where never a problem for us…even if ten years have passed since.." she paused taking in a deep breath.  "...he vanished."

Alexia was really curious about the story of Edward's father.  She listened carefully while she was holding the cup near her mouth, blowing inside it trying to cool off the content.
"10 years..." murmured Alexia... and then she turned at Edward, who was till looking outside.
Suddenly, the girl got a worried expression on her face.
"Is something wrong, my dear?" Kat asked with concern.
"I am sorry… I know it might seem an odd question but… what was your husband called?"

"Pride Falcon…" and now Kat was wary as
Alexia placed the cup on the table, she looked astounded and direct her glance again toward Edward.
"It's you!" she exclaim as the young pilot slowly drew his attention to her with a raised eyebrow.
"Me?" asked Edward
"Yes! You're the little Edward Falcon!"
"Little?!?" Edward was both stunned and annoyed.
Alexia shook her head as if she had said something stupid but was too late to take back.  Standing up, she walked over to Edward and took his hand while gazing deep into his eyes.
"Yes it's you, Pride's son...  You are the one I've been searching for.."  Edward and others in the room were confused.
"You have something very important..a map, right?"

Edward stepped back, startled.
"How did you...?!"
Alexia nodned like if she already knew what Edward was going to ask her.
"The wiseman of my village gave it to your father and told us a lot about you and your wish of finding Sora!"

Edward moved away from the windowsill and gave a rather serious look.
"But... where did you come from? Who are you really?"
She lowered her gaze and moved a little away from him.  There were a few silent minutes.  "I came from Sora, the island in the sky!" she claimed.
"In the sky?!"  Edward shook his head.  "Stop with this nonsense stories!  It doesn't really exist!  an island in the sky?  Are you serious?"  Alexia was saddened that Edward didn't seem to believe a word she said.
"Yes it does exist!  I came from there!"
Edward put his hand on her forehead, still not wanting to listen to anything she had to say.
"Mom, call a doctor..she's delirious.."
Alexia pushed away his hand feeling like he was mocking her.
"If you don't believe me, look at your map."  She exclaimed with determination.
Crossing his arms over his chest, he gave her a stern look.  "I have been searching for it for 3 years now and no clues ever mentioned anything about a phantom island in the sky.  Face it, Sora doesn't exist and is only a legend, just like the city of El Dorado.." said the arrogant young man.
She stared at him in disbelief.  She could tell he was hiding something, something he didn't want to talk about.
"Is that so?  You really believe that it doesn't exist?"  she asked rhetorically.  "So the guardians of the holy temples don't exist either, right?" she added.

A smirk formed on Edward's face as if she suddenly struck a nerve.  "Thats not the point, they are over there because it's a custom handed down by past generations.."

The girl leaned in close to his face and gaze intensely into his eyes.
"Do you really believe that?"
He knew she had him at this point and it was useless to try and bluff his way out of this."

"Alright..they exist..  I've personally met two of them myself."  Might as well come clean as this wasn't the average girl, and he clearly saw that now.
"Yes! I know that!"
"But they don't know anything about Sora, there are no clues and that's the honest truth!"
"Doesn't matter, give me that map and I'll show to you!"
Edward sent Apollus to fetch the map from his room while they all sat down in the living room.  Kat decided it was best to leave them alone for now.

"So tell me the truth, if you 'really' came from Sora, who were those ugly goons and what did they want from you?"
"I..I can't say.." she claimed and Edward didn't bother to answer back and instead let out a sigh.

"That's ok, I won't nag..". Meanwhile Apollus came back with the map.
"Here it is young master!"
"Thanks." Edward spread the map out on the table.  It was old and marked by time, but still needed to be inspected with a rare material as not to ruin the writings and drawing that were still visible.
Alexia's eyes started to shine looking at the map.
"There's so much wear that i don't see much on this map!  Our wiseman gave it to you father as a frienship sign... also because your father said he would never leave the island until he had the treasure even if it meant stealing it.."
Edward keep his palm on his face.
"It's typically him."
"Well, he wanted to give you that map so you would be able to arrive on the isalnd."
"He could simple tell me how to do that by writing a letter! But this is typically him too, never straight to the point!"
"It's not that simple reaching the island Edward, you can't do it flying, only from the ground."  she clarified.  "You will need the help of the other guardians."
"The story of the seven stones?"
She smiled and nodded.
"But it's only a legen..." Edward stopped when Alexia glared at him, he sighed and looked at the map again.
"So how can we reach the island?"
"See this map is over 500 years, it's from the time of the power stones battle. Sora was the seventh dominant island, the wiseman moved it into the skies to preserve the power of the seven stones and this is why the island doesn't appear in your contemporary maps."
Edward kept both his palms on the face.
"This is just crazy..."
"Please..." said Alexia.  Edward looked at her.
"Help me to get together the other 6 guardians and we all can reach Sora!"  She looked desperate and honest.
"Wait, six guardians? Aren't they seven?" asked Edward.  Alexia smiled, closed the map and stood up.
"You're one of the seven guardians." she said.  "I just chose you."
He suspiciously looked at her but didn't reply, there was something Alexia didn't or couldn't tell him.  All in all, the idea of a new journay was exciting, he wasted to much time at home without any kind of excitement.
"I'm in, let's do this!" Alexia smiled again as Edward moved near to the window.
"We have to gather together all the guardians.  I've met two of them, one is on the Moon Island." Edward shivered,  "while another... is on the Fire Island."
"Amazing, let's start now!" said Alexia with much enthusiasm.
"Yes, we can do it now since. the storm has calmed down but i need to clean off the pad."
"The pad?" asked Alexia
"Isn't it obvious?  We're going to fly out of here!"
